sick baby

So today, Graham woke up with a little congestion. I didn't think too much about it because it's happened before with no fever. Unfortunately though, he started running a fever slightly over 100. So we took him to see the doc, so he wouldn't have a miserable first Christmas. They didn't actually tell me what he has, but that it's just some infection. He'll be on antibiotics for 10 days...WOW! I will say that the baby tylenol really seems to help. For a few hours after taking it, he's back to smiling and bouncing around like normal. Probably the saddest time today though was when he was just lying in my arms moaning. Poor little munchkin didn't feel good at all. I just hate this whole being sick thing...so those germs better get out of his little body...and fast!

day of firsts...

Today was a day of firsts for Graham. To start the day, we saw Santa (whom we happened to know because he is a family friend). Graham loved Santa and smiled in all of his pictures. I guess that's nothing new...since he smiles at EVERYONE. I never knew an infant could be such a people person until Graham came into this world. He'll smile at just about anyone...he just loves people!

After we saw Santa, we wanted to go see The Blindside. I didn't mention earlier, but Jeff took the day off. We went to the matinee because we thought it would be less crowded. We didn't want Graham to cry during the show, so we thought a weekday would be the best. And it was! There were only 15 people in the theater, but that wouldn't have mattered because Graham was great! He pretty much slept the entire time, but he did wake up once and let out a cry. He was perfect! On the way home, we stopped off at the Cool Cuts for Kids to get Grahamer a little trim. His hair was getting a little out of control around his ears and on top. He did a great job there too! They put him in this little car (which you'll see below) and he hit is head on the metal steering wheel. Poor baby cried and cried for a minute.

Here are a few pictures from today!

mr. giggles

This just makes my heart happy! He's such a happy baby...we couldn't be luckier. This was taken about 2 weeks ago...but just got it uploaded.

almost a crawler

Our next door neighbor, Judi, has been so sweet to take several pictures for us. She took a few yesterday...they turned out pretty cute! PS...I just love the vintage chair he's sitting in too!

On a side note, Graham is almost ready to crawl. In the last few days, I've seen him raise his entire body off the floor. He's even done the crawling motion...just hasn't quite mastered the idea of actually moving. I love to see him accomplish these new things!

On November 16th, his first bottom tooth broke the skin. Since then, his bottom right tooth has broken the skin too. I feel so sorry for him though, because you can really tell his gums are bothering him...and I hate that! He is constantly putting fingers, clothing, anything in reach into his mouth. This is just the beginning of the teething too...oh no!

birthday fun!

For my 26th birthday, we went to the Dallas World Aquarium for the afternoon. It may look like Graham was not interested, but below all of those frowns...I think he had fun! Graham really did great at the Aquarium, until the last hour or so...after that he was passed out. He loved seeing all of the under water animals, especially that sea cow.

trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat

Graham= Charlie Brown
Jeff= half asleep/ half awake (which he won the costume prize for at work)
Amanda= smartie pants (had smarties attached to my pants)

amarillo trip

We went to Amarillo over the weekend. We had a great time! Graham did so great in the car. When he did get fussy, all we did was sing him "Head, shoulders, knees, and toes" and he was happy again...well for a minute at least. He also got to meet great grandma Lutz!! Graham's loves in the last month: standing with support for longer periods of time, sitting by himself (well for 30 seconds anyway), getting his knees up underneath him, shaking a rattle, saying his first word "mama" even though he doesn't know it yet, rolling around like crazy, turning from a brown headed boy to a blondie, laughing all the time, and eating rice cereal like a mad man!

bounce, bounce, bounce

Graham has a new little trick and that is to bounce. He has this play bouncer, and I swear that he could bounce in it for hours on end. I've never seen a kid love to go up and down so much. He's going to have some strong little legs soon...good for walking.
About a week and a half ago we went to Lubbock to visit good friends and family. We saw Texas Tech beat up on UNM. Here are a few pictures of Graham from the weekend.

mover and a shaker

Graham loves to sit up...those pillows just help him to not fall over. He's even started to recognize that he's somewhat in control of his hands. He'll play (wack at) things that are in his reach. It's so fun to see how much he's changed just within a few days.

turn baby, turn

Last night, Graham was so excited to see his first Texas Tech game on tv that he rolled from his back to tummy. He's rolled from his back to side many times, but yesterday was the first full roll to tummy. I will say that he was a little disappointed that we didn't pull out a victory over Texas, so he decided to only do the one roll.

he's 8 weeks old in both of these pictures

3 months here

So I've thought about blogging for a while, and today I finally got sucked in. It'll be a good way to help me remember big events in Graham's life...or at least that's the way I'm looking at it.

A little about Graham:
As of today he's 3 1/2 months old...can't believe it but it's true. He's about 16 1/2 lbs. His loves: smiling, laughing, EATING, being sung to (he really likes the song "head and shoulders, knees and toes" and "the hokey pokey"), to sit up on his own (he needs a little help so he won't fall over), TEXAS TECH FOOTBALL, watching sports on tv (seriously), sucking on his first three fingers, falling asleep in his swing, sleeping at least 9 hours at night...which is amazing!!!, being held by mommy and daddy, bath time in which he also loves to tee-tee in the tub, looking at himself in the mirror, and rolling onto his side.
