LBK/ Andy's Graduation

The graduate. Andy
Andy wanted to go bowling...so that's what we did after graduation.

So, I've been a blog slacker. I have only posted a few pictures from December, so I'm finally getting back to it. Graham goes to Mother's Day out on Tuesday and Thursday's now...which gives me time to clean the house, go out the lunch, or do school work. On a side note, school started this week. I'm extremely bummed about it. This might be my hardest semester of grad school yet. I'm basically writing a research paper in one of my classes. If anybody has any suggestions on good educational topics I could write my paper over, please let me know. Anyways, Graham went to Mother's Day out today so I've had a few minutes to sit down and dedicate to blogging. Graham has been so energetic lately. I think this is partly because it's been so cold and he can't go outside and run around. I'll be happy when he can go to the parkand just run in circles! He's had a cold and a really deep chest cough, but I think he's slowly getting better. For a few days there, he was not in a good mood...but luckily my happy little guy is bouncing back fast! Here are a few things about the 19 month old Graham:
1. He loves to tickle you. Even though he doesn't quite no wear to put his finger, he still expects you to laugh when you're being tickled (Many times he'll tickle the top of your foot instead of the bottom...we're working on that.)
2. His two favorite words are uh-oh and wow! Every time I ask him what a cow or horse or dog says...it's "uh-oh". I have to prompt him to get the correct response. Every time he drops something, it's "uh-oh". He also says "wow" when something exciting happens.
3. My picky eater. He's in this bad habit of throwing food or feeding it to the dogs if he doesn't want to eat it. A lot of times, he'll drink some milk and then throw that down too. We've been trying to work on this for months and not much progress. Any ideas?
4. He loves to dance. It doesn't matter what kind of music because Graham can dance to anything. Half of the time, we'll be driving in the car listening the the radio. When I look in my rear view mirror at him, he'll be bobbing his head or moving his shoulders back and forth. It's so darn cute! I'll be posting video of this soon.

Above are the pictures from Lubbock and Andy's Graduation from Tech. We got to hang out with Diane and Joe Longnecker. We've missed them, so it was great catching up!

snow day!!!

I thought we'd have a mild winter here since we had such a cold one last year, but we had our first snow of the season today! We put Graham in his winter gear and went outside. You can see from the pictures that we had so much fun! I'm not sure how much more snow we're going to get today, but I think we have gotten between two and three inches.

On a side note, we've figured out a way to make Graham smile in pictures. On Nick Jr., there is a tv show called The Fresh Beat Band. It's about four students who love to sing and dance, and Graham loves it! Everytime it comes on, he jumps up and down and goes crazy (I'm being totally serious...no exaggeration here). Anyways, I've learned that if I say it when trying to capture his picture...it'll make him smile. It even worked in these pictures too! I'll do whatever it takes to capture a cute picture of my baby...even though I think every picture is cute including those when he's crying. :)

Events from December

December was a really busy month, but it was so fun! We did a little bit of everything. I posted several pictures on facebook, and I've been torn about whether to blog about them too....but here they are. Over the next few days, I'll post pictures and info about each activity we did in December. Today, I'm posting the pictures from the Richardson Christmas Festival. For years, I've always wondered what the mini houses outside of the Richardson Public Library on Arapaho were used for, but now I know it's for Christmas. Each little house had a theme: like Frosty's house or Dr. Suess' house. Santa was there too...but the line was over an hour long and it was freezing outside. We went on a Thursday night...thinking it wouldn't be as crowdedduring the week...but it was still crazy! There were so many kids and teenagers roaming around. As we were leaving, Graham made a friend. The boys were running around in circleschasing each other and screaming. He had so much fun, and we loved watching him interact. After that, Graham was so wound up and did not want to go home with boring Mommy andDaddy. We had a good time though.

mr. bunny

I was going through some of my pictures and found one of mr. bunny. Mr. Bunny was a gift from some family friends, and we received him right after Graham was born. It's so funny how kids choose a favorite stuffed animal or a blankie...well mr. bunny has been chosen by Graham. I thought I'd introduce him to those who aren't familiar with mr. bunny. He's pretty much as Graham's side all day...but he must be there while he's sleeping along with his other friend (the paci). hahaha...this is kinda a dumb post...

Happy New Years!

So I've never been real big on New Year's resolutions, but this year I'm going to jump all in. I've been thinking about a few things I want to do in 2011. My list is pretty short, and I'm sure I'll add a few more things (when I think of them).

1. This is stupid really, but I've always washed my hair everyday because it gets oily. I'm getting so sick and tired of washing and drying it EVERYDAY! So, this year I'm going to start washing my hair every other day. Like I said, I know it's dumb, but I've heard it's better for my hair. Who knows....but if you see me within the first few weeks of the New Year...my hair will be greasy. Hopefully after a few weeks, my scalp won't produce as much oil and I'll be good to go.
2. Take Graham on a family vacation. We've traveled to Lubbock, Tyler and Amarillo...but nowhere out of state.
3. Discover new musical artists. Jeff and I are going to buy a new cd on iTunes every week for the entire year. We love music, but I pretty much stick to what I know. If you have any suggestions on this one, let me know.
4. Go antiquing. I've been to a few antique shops...but I've never really "gone antiquing." I'd love to find a fun old piece of furniture and redo it. Who knows...
5. Go see a movie at the Magnolia or Angelika. I know it's crazy...I've lived in Dallas all of my life basically, and I've never been to either theater.
6. Lastly, I'd like to loose a few more pounds. My goal is to work out five days a week and eat healthy foods. It seems like this is a New Year's resolution every year, but I'm hoping by writing it down I'll follow through with it.

Here's a picture of my boys watching TCU beat Wisconsin!!!
